Native Plant Giveaway
The Native Plant Giveaway has been delivered in conjunction with the Squirrel Glider LAMP Project since 2019. The giveaway aims to allow Landholders and community members to plant native vegetation to support our local wildlife such as Squirrel gliders and our nectar-loving birds. In the last two years, over 4,000 plants have been given away with over 200 orders received.
In 2020, the giveaway was supported by the Birds on Farms project. The NSW Government Saving our Species (SOS) Program and Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife Service (FNPWS) and Holbrook Landcare Network have joined with BirdLife Australia to establish Birds on Farms monitoring sites across our area to gain a better understanding of how, when, and what birds are using as resources in our landscape. Through the giveaway and other projects, the Birds on Farms project will undertake some on-ground plantings for the Nectar-lovers. Learn more…
